Free admission from HS to Post Graduate and Assamese language will be mandatory for all - HBS

Today Himanta Biswa Sarma , Finance, Health and Education minister of Assam held a press conference, where he said that The students in Assam will get 100% free admission in colleges from Higher Secondary to Post Graduate level. And he also said that from class One to 10 Assamese language will be mandatory.



Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the free admission will also include the Mechanical, polytechnic medical and Engineering students. There will be no hidden fee can be charged by college authority including magazine, Saraswati puja, development, excursion fee or any other charges. Even the prospectus fee will also be free of cost. If any college found in charging fees from students strict action will be taken by the Govt.


In the press conference Himanta Biswa Sarma also added that the Assamese language will be mandatory for all schools in Assam. Assam government has made it mandatory for educational institutions operating in the state to teach Assamese as a subjects from class one to 10. But in Bodoland  Bodo language and in Barak valley Bengali language will be mandatory. Assamese language will not be mandatory in this two areas.
