The Royal Challengers Bangalore (often abbreviated as RCB) are a franchise cricket team based in Bangalore, Karnataka, that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It was founded in 2008 by United Spirits and named after the company's liquor brand Royal Challenge. Since its inception, the team has played its home matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium .



The Royal Challengers have never won the IPL but finished runners-up on three occasions between 2009 and 2016. Their lack of success over the years despite the presence of various notable players has earned them the tag of "underachievers." The team holds the records of both the highest and the lowest totals in the IPL – 263/5 and 49 respectively


The RCB is popularly known for their bating superstars. They have famous batsman in their team like Virat kohli , ABD Villiers, Aaron Finch etc. They had also superstar players in their team like Chris Gayle , KL Rahul and Shane Watson which they had lost them in the recent IPL auction. On the other side they has a very poor bowling line ups. Their bowling conditions costing the team from the very first of their IPL journey.



Recently Parthiv Patel,opening batsman of RCB, said in a interview that he had suggested Virat Kohli, the captain of RCB to take Jasprit Bumrah into their team when he was firstly auctioned in the IPL. But RCB's management didn't put much attention to it and was thrashed by Mumbai Indians management in the auction and took Bumrah into their team 


Now Jasprit Bumrah is world's number one bowler in all format. If RCB had taken him then it would have been a different scene right now for the team. Or maybe they would have won the trophy like the Mumbai Indians did.
